Chances are if you have landed on my blog you’re a web designer OR developer.
I would just like to mention a website I became a member of a few years ago.

I cannot believe how far the Envato marketplace has come in such a short period of time. For those who have never heard of Envato it’s a series of websites allowing people to buy and sell digital goods.

There are just over half a million members on envato at the time of writing this post. Not bad for a company that was started in a living room in the land down under (Australia) in 2006.

Here is a breakdown of my three favourite Envato marketplaces for easy reference:
- ActiveDen – Flash templates, websites and premade Flash components
- ThemeForest – Site Templates and Themes
- AudioJungle – Music Loops, Music Packs, Sound Effects, Logos and Indents

A really easy way to create embedded text using photoshop. This is a very attractive effect and you will literally freak at how easy this is.

Inspiration to create this file came from flashden. I created this file initially about a year ago and it seemed quite tricky to get going. Creating a mask effect in flash is very easy, however having multiple masking effects working together was the tricky part. As I dug deeper into the trying to get this to work I found that it was only one masking effect was needed to create the effect.

I plan to have a few versions of this project including a final version with an xml file to instantly change and add images.

These images were taken in Australia on the road from Sydney to Melbourne.

This map has been made so that the user must first select one of Canada’s provinces, before a second option is proposed. This second option is disabled until the user has selected a state.The user can still select a different state before choosing the second option, if he clicked on the wrong one for example.

Each button “option 1” and “option 2”, have their own URL, to which the corresponding 2 letters from the state selected will be added, like this:
http//:wwwyoururl.com/ON
Where the blue part is loaded from XML and the red part added in flash. You can literally change almost every parameter in the XML file and there is only 1 node to make it easier.

Some glassy buttons created in photoshop. Pretty easy to do but if your not sure how i have uploaded the original psd so please feel free to download, use and redistribute.
